Fishing is one of the most iconic professions in MMORPGs, and in Ravendawn, your patience is very well rewarded.

How to Fish

Getting the rod and hook

Before embarking on your high seas adventure, you'll need to equip yourself with a fishing rod and hook. You can obtain both items as rewards by partially completing the quest Raiding the Raiders at level 12 from the NPC Mikkel in Margrove, who offers the quest. After completing certain tasks, you should be rewarded with a fishing rod and hook.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SPACE IN YOUR INVENTORY TO RECEIVE BOTH REWARDS.

Otherwise, you can simply go to the market and buy them as well.

Finding a spot

Now that we have our rod and hook, we are ready to fish in the deep sea. The first thing we need to do is find a good spot.

There are two types of fish spots: the basic spot with few fishes, and the big spot with many fishes.

This is a small spot with fewer fish available, and you can only find and fish for them along the coast.

Small spot of fish

And that is the big spot, where you can find more fish, but you can only find that spot in the high sea.

Big spot of fish

To start fishing, you need to interact with the fishing spot by using the 'F button' or right-clicking. Once you interact with the fishing spot, you will start waiting for a fish to take the bait, like so.

When your "Waiting for Fish" bar is filled, the minigame will begin. You can see there are two bars. The bottom bar with the green mark represents the fishing life. When you fill that bar, you catch the fish. However, you also need to pay attention to the top bar, which represents the tension of the line and how much the fish is pulling. Every few seconds, the fish gains strength and increases the tension on the line "white mark". When you take action, you can increase the tension on the line "red mark". If the red mark reaches the white mark, the line breaks, and the fish is released. The same will happen if the white mark fills the entire bar.

After the green bar filled, the fish goes into your inventory. If you don't have any space, you release the fish but still gain experience. The price of the fish depends on the type you catch. As you level up your fishing skill, the prices of the fish improve. Check your professions tab for the levels required to catch each fish. The rarity of the fish also influences the price. There are four types of rarity: small, medium, large, and gargantuan, in increasing order of size and value. You can also turn the fish into fillets and other items used primarily in cooking.
